Gyprock starts

We arrive at the house to find that the gyprock has started going up. The house is beginning to take shape now and is feeling a lot bigger than previous. The niches, raked ceiling and bulkheads really add that extra dimension to the house.

Insulation is in

Went to the house to check on the progress and in particular to see whether the carpenter's have been back to complete the outstanding framing works. All the works except the most critical defect have been fixed, more phone calls now to get this fixed properly. And also found the insulation had been installed. Did not realise the insulation would be so thick...

The true colour of the Bricks revealed!

Our bricks have been cleaned... and yes we are happy with our choice. They look great, better than we expected. Dawn continues to rub it in that lucky we went with her idea for the Blackheath Bricks.

The front porch and the two columns have been rendered. The quality of the render is fantastic, the finish is flawless.

Also the electrical works have started, It must have been a busy week but it's great to see the progress.

Bricks Finished

The bricks are complete. The house is really coming together now. It's a bit of a shame with them looking so dirty we can't see the true colour. I found out that's due to the brick layers using a sponge to finish off the ironed joints.

Front - and no we did not pull down the fence to take the photo...

Bricks Cont'd

Bricks continuing...

Not sure whats happened with the Leisure Room window but I hope they will fix it up. I thought the bricks finish just above the window, not 100mm above leaving a gap?

The brick layers look to be doing a good job, but there attention to detail with regards to the flashing (water proofing) is a little dodgy. My father has over 20 years experience as a brick layer and he has pointed out a few dody practices which I have passed on to the SS.
